Silje, and some other selected musicians, did a recording session with Pat Metheny; they played the song "Tell Me Where You're Going", which would become Siljes' international debut single in 1990.
In the newspaper Dagbladet (February 10. 1988) we read:
"Young Silje Nergaard was yesterday incorporated into the exclusive group of musicians who have had Pat Metheny as 'side-man' on a  recording session. Within a few hours in the middle of the day, Metheny put guitar on one of Silje's compositions for her upcoming LP.
During a stay in New York some time ago, Silje took the opportunity to give Metheny a demo tape of a song. Metheny completely fell for the composition, so completely that he agreed to contribute with guitar playing.
Silje Nergaard, for many years an extremely promising singer and musician, has received cassette fee fund support for her LP. Record company and date of release have not yet been set."
