A rare music experience
There is a shortage of space in Gamle Slemmestad Pub when Røyken jazz forum holds a concert for members and jazz enthusiasts. Friday's concert with was no exception, lots of people and fantastic music.
Pål Christian Jansen
Stian Carstensen, for the occasion at the accordion, Silje Nergaard and Jarle Vespestad creates a very special atmosphere. It is jazz, humor and a musical experience out of the ordinary that meets one if one should be lucky enough to experience a jazz concert in the way those who visited Gamle Slemmestad Pub this Friday.
Varied
"Tea for two" and other classics were presented to the audience in a packaging unique to this evening. The arangement ranged from more traditional jazz, if anything can be called so, to opera beats to an event one might want to find in South American folk music.
This is not the first time this musician constellation has visited Slemmestad. Also last year, the varied duo was here, then with another drummer. But the success was at least as great this year. Despite a somewhat reduced Jarle Vespestad; not musically, but health-wise. But despite a high fever and a bad cold, his drum solos were all the more impressive. It's not every day you see people so attached to music.
Satisfied
"It was a good concert," says a satisfied Silje Nergaard after the concert.
"It's not always as successful as we did here, but it's so nice to come here and play because it's a very good audience. It was great fun '', she continues. Nergaard is also on record in March and can promise more jazz there.
