Silje and Stian
Tonight it will swing at Gamle Slemmestad Pub. Then Silje Nergaard and Stian Carstensen come to Røyken Jazzforum.
Silje Nergaard is one of the "new" stars in the Norwegian jazz sky. Already as a 16-year-old she was introduced to the Norwegian jazz audience at the Jazz Festival in Molde. She broke through with her debut single "Tell me where you're going", a duet with the world-famous jazz guitarist Pat Metheny. Since then, she has played with Morten Harket, and she is now a well-established vocalist in several genres.
Stian Carstensen is well known in Røykens jazz environment after many visits. He is a music-technical talent, and treats many different instruments. Among other things, he plays on Øystein Sunde's latest CD. As usual, Carstensen brings with him Finn Guttormsen on bass and Jarle Vespestad on drums, which guarantees solid comp.
The interaction between Silje and Stian is also very good, so this should be a jazz experience of the rare.
