Silje Nergaard to Pierrot Saturday
On Saturday, 19-year-old Silje Nergaard and her band "Mellow Yellow" will come to Café Pierrot. The band plays music that fuses elements from jazz to pop. But they make it something that is definitely their own. This is stated both in the press release and in newspaper reviews from places where the group has performed.
Vocalist Silje writes songs herself and she plays keyboards. She and the band have been well received both in clubs and at concerts.
Silje Nergaard started touring in 1985. Then she called her band "Silje". Even then, she garnered praise from the press and the public. Among other things, Rogalandsposten wrote: "Sorry, A-ha and other hitmakers, but when it comes to conveying the music experience to the audience, you have to find yourselves standing far behind in the queue for Silje".
"What a power, what a playing virility and what an unmixed, steadfast energy", Fædrelandsvennen wrote about the band "Mellow Yellow" after a performance in Kristiansand in 1986. It is said about Silje's voice that "she has a voice of rich fullness, it is nuanced, soon ongoing, devilishly rough, soon cat-soft tender, it has a large effortless nerve and its own sensual touch ''.
And the young lady with this voice can thus be heard together with Nils Einar Vinjor, guitar and vocals, Audun Erlien, bass and vocals, Stein Inge Brækhus, drums and Reidar Skår, keyboards at Café Pierrot on Saturday 7 February.
