Silje Nergaard Band plays at Club 7
By Turid Andreassen Lie
Hamar: Silje Nergaard Band, from Hamar, will play at Club 7 next Friday and Saturday.
The band, which with its current cast is relatively new, thus gets the opportunity to show the capital audience what the group is good for.
"Of course we are looking forward to Club 7 week", says Silje Nergaard, vocalist and '' leading lady '' in the band that bears her name.
"And now it's going to be '' cool music '' all the way?"
''Well. At least we play good music. Rocky jazz, some homemade stuff, a bit by Michael Franks, a bit by Joni Mitchell. In other words, not pure jazz, but music with catchy rhythms.''
''By the way, we've got a new name. Now we are no longer called Sile Nergaard Quintet, but Silje Nergaard Band. And we have replaced some of the crew. Both Lage Børresen and Jørn Fodnestøl started playing with us this autumn.''
''Now we feel ready to take on gigs. Like this one in Club 7, 26 and 27 October'', says Silje Nergaard.
The picture: Cool music, really ... Silje Nergaard Band will play at Club 7-week. The band consists of Silje Nergaard, vocals, Carl Erik Hedløv, guitar, Jørn Fodnestøl, bass, Lage Børresen, drums, and Stig Lillehaug, keyboards.
